SleeplessAfternoon is a web log of thoughts and musings mainly in the domains of computing, software development, mathematics, and design; and in how ideas from these domains blend together with sometimes surprising and sometimes inspiring results. These thoughts and musings have come to mind during my many years of developing, maintaining, and thinking about application software.

I’m Peter Raynham and I have made my career in the fields of software design, development, and support. From time to time I have done things like inadvertently drinking coffee at lunch that have caused me sleepless afternoons in the office. It is during these times that inspiration has come to me for some of  the ideas and thoughts that I share in this blog.
